SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2024

  • General Endurance: 10.0 km run in 57:30 (distance p.b by 2.5km)

For once I managed to keep the pace very slow and even. I intended to do at least 7.5km but feeling pretty good around 7 km I decided I would try that one more loop. Hours later I can see that it took a lot out of my legs. A little achy and quite weary.

Just a recovery run. That 10km took a lot out of my legs.

SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2024

Just a nice easy pace and a surge over the last half km or so. I felt a little more like I had my legs back under me again. I am eager to attempt p.b at 3 km..

  • General Endurance: 4.0 km in 19:57 (1 second off my best time, 24:58 5km pace)

I certainly didn't intend to run very fast. It was meant to be a moderate effort 5 km. However, I was hitting faster splits all along. When I saw that I was on PB pace at 3 km, I eased off a bit to gather my wind again. I decided to put on a surge and try to hit 20 minutes for 4km. I didn't quite have the mental game today to push on to 5km. But at the same time I certainly could have. My next goal will be to run a significant PB at 4 km. The low 19s would be setting me up for that sub 24 5km.
