NOVEMBER 18TH, 2024

The new rule is only run until the achilles becomes uncomfortable, stop no matter where it is. I intended 4-5km but certainly I am out of shape. The run felt heavy. I notice a big difference without these runs in my life. As much as I want that 100m record the most, I think to sustain a healthy lifestyle I am going to have to choose slow running. At least for now.

NOVEMBER 19TH, 2024

I am trying to reestablish the daily running habit. Still feeling heavy but both achilles handled the distance just fine, although it was a slow pace deliberately.

NOVEMBER 20TH, 2024

It was a nice easy run. I didn't feel quite so heavy this time. I deliberately kept the pace slow and tried to focus on proper technique when I thought of it. No problems with either Achilles tendon during or afterwards.

NOVEMBER 21ST, 2024

The run started out slowly but I was feeling better as it went along. I wasn't close to exhausted at the end, felt like I could easily continue to 5km. I'm always keeping my achilles in mind these days so just to have run at a better clip at the same distance is a small victory for today.

NOVEMBER 22ND, 2024

I was pretty tired by the end but it is nice to be back near my best 4k form so quickly. I really focused on my running technique and it payed off. Achilles feel okay again, just a tiny bit sore but they warmed up nicely and handled the faster pace quite well. Tomorrow is meant to be raining and cold so it would be good to take a day off.
