JUNE 20TH, 2024

After 2 days off to allow my achilles rest...

My goal was to run these right around 10 seconds exactly. The first 6 reps were all just above or just below 9 seconds. 9 seconds projects to 13.87 second 100m, 90% and on grass. I'm pleased that my full out 100m time would be in the mid to high 12's right now. Over the last 4 reps,  they slowed to 9.5-9.75. On the final 20m of the last rep I felt a sharp pain in achilles and I just eased down into the finish. It ached on the walk home. Hopefully I can stick to the 2 days rest and go again.

No lactate produced by this session but I was feeling heavy and tired on the last 3.

JUNE 21ST - JUNE 23RD

My right achilles tendon was quite badly injured after that last session.  The day of the injury and the day after that I was hobbling around.  It needs a more complete recovery so I can start stringing some workouts together again.  I'm looking towards June 29th as a return to training and hope to not lose too much fitness.

JUNE 25TH

Achilles don't seem to be improving the way they normally do.  They are still achy getting around until they warm up from walking.  Not painful, just stiff really.
